Sam And Saundra’s Second
Time Around – Part 55
Alaska
6/24/11 to 7/9/11- Klutina
River, Glennallen
| Owen And Juvenile Eagle Outside Our Door |
Sam and I caught salmon.
Owen caught more Arctic Graylings at Tolsona Lake and the vacuum packer howls.
We take breaks from fishing to go hunting the roadways, forest paths and
wherever for the cherished diamond willows. We found a few, taking home
about 30 or so. Just a few. The search for wood has hindered our ongoing
rock-hunting quest. But have no fear, we are sure to resume that activity
as well. We have great weather, sun-burning when we are not
careful. Fishing in the water in sandals. A little coolish, but
doable. We spent time with Rob and Tammy, one of the two couples
who taught us how to fish for Reds two years ago. Rob calls Art and Ruby,
who now are in Texas and we get to talk to Art. They moved back to ‘extended
family land’ last year, but plan to return to Alaska as soon as they can. Ruby
and Art were missed. The Klutina River is as beautiful as we remember.
