Sam Declares That It Is
Summer Already!!!
| Definitely A Baby |
We barely get back on
the Alaska Highway, when Sam has to slam on the brakes again. Then again and
again. More wildlife. Dall Sheep, mountain goats, deer, big horn
sheep, buffalo, black bears. Owen and I were taking pictures like
mad. You gotta love digital! So many animals – so many pictures
taken. We pass Toad River, Liard Hot Springs, Watson Lake and pull into
Baby Nugget RV Park, just past the Cassiar Highway junction. I usually like
nuggets. This one – not so much.
| Saayum! He's Standing On MY Rock!! |
The next day was a
short one. We saw scads of black bear, which makes traveling so
fun. We camp at the Marsh Lake Yukon Government Campground. Yes,
you guessed it! We went from British Columbia to the Yukon Territories.
This is very hard to explain to myself – let alone a six year old. You do
it. We like this campground. Has flat spaces, is only $12, complete with
as much firewood as we wanted and even has a playground. We mainly like it
since it is close to Whitehorse. We go into the big town and shop at
WalMart and the Canada Store (Canadian version of Walmart). We do some
impromptu sightseeing when Sam takes just one little wrong turn. Me – I
am grinning – the trailer is back at camp.
