Sam And Saundra's Second Time Around - Part 44

Sam And Saundra’s Second Time Around – Part 44
Oregon
3/21/11 Welcome Reagan Achelle Meyer – Spring!

Tauna and Aaron are having their third child on Monday morning.  The plan is: Sam and I will go to their house in early morning. Have coffee with them around 7 and Laura (Aaron’s mom and our good friend) will go with them to the hospital, while we watch Jaron and Sami.  When we get notice that Reagan has completed her coming out ceremony, we will take the kids in to share birthday wishes and gifts with their new baby sister. Then we can take them home for their nap and so on.  Great plan.

Tauna started contractions and texted us that she was going into the hospital a little before 5 am.  Sam and I pretended to sleep a little longer (Hey – we are experienced grandparents and know that we will need all of our energy!) We finally get up at about 5:30 and head over to Tauna and Aaron’s house around 7 am.  We have play time with the kids and catch-up time with Laura.  We are notified that the C-section is still scheduled as planned and that we will receive a call when Reagan arrives.  Man, those doctors were slow!  I do not think that they were aware of just how long we have been waiting to hold our fourth grandchild. At 11:03 am, Reagan made her entrance at 8 pounds, 12 ounces.  Grandpa Mike called so we could cheer altogether. We rushed - as fast as three grandparents and a little brother and littler sister can rush - to the hospital. After naps of course.  Now, that was not nice – the kids took the naps.  Oh wait a minute.  Laura and I did … OK, Sam took one too.  Ish!  After we all took naps, we rushed to the hospital.

Reagan is so beautiful!  As we try to understand the simple miracle of her birth, she grasps our heartstrings. Without even moving a finger, they become so entangled, that we will always have her with us.  We are blessed again. Uncle Dave takes pictures while the rest of us take turns holding and welcoming Reagan.  Her parents are tuckered, but glowing with love and the excitement of Reagan entering her place in their family.

 Simply stated – Reagan Rocks!!!!
