Sam And Saundra’s Second Time Around – Part 26
Mexico
11/1/10-3/1/11 – Yuma Break – Cabo More Air
We rushed out of our room, carrying our camera and
sandals. We ran a short distance up the
steep, gold sand beach, then turned and ran straight into the surf. Arms grabbed me from above and Sam pushed
from behind. Just when it seemed like the waves were going to win, I landed
with a graceful kerplunk in the waiting water taxi. Sam teetered on the edge of the boat, then
was tugged in the rest of the way, as the boat sped off to meet our next
adventure. We had no time to come to our
senses before we found ourselves being shuffled from one boat to another in
open sea. We received no
pre-instructions. After putting us in a harness affair, attached to nothing, we
were told to sit down with our legs straight in front of us. We were finally hooked up and off zoomed the
boat. There was a little tug, and Sam
and I, holding hands, were gently lifted off of the deck of the boat and into
the air. Above us was a silky sun-bright
yellow and orange balloon-like parachute.
Up, up, up. Little wind, no sense
of danger. At least until I looked down
at the sea way below us.
| Another Flight |
Have you ever wondered what a worm must feel as it dangles
at the end of the line over a fully loaded body of water? This sea is packed
with migrating whale, and an assortment of fish. My imagination wandered and we had so much
fun. Sam has been vetoing going
parasailing until now. He suggested
it. When no whales nibbled our toes, we
watched the cruise ships, fishing boats and water toys below. We saw whales spouting and the sun shining
through the rocks that are the ‘trademark’ of the Cape of San Lucas. We soared. We grinned. This time, Sam’s was
wider than mine. We liked it so much we did it again on another day. We plan to do it again, whenever the chance
arises. We are hooked and loving it.
