Sam And Saundra’s Second Time Around – Part 5
Nevada
10/19/10 - 10/22/10 -Las
Vegas Showtime
We got there early. I was so excited. We had just walked through
beautiful old world architecture, murals painted on walls and ceilings,
excellent lighting and furniture. Class
dripping everywhere. As we entered the
main floor theater, Sam led me down the aisle on the left to a seat about three
rows from the front. Perfect! I would be able to hear and see everything. I was so excited! We sat and started our
wait. I softly and calmly asked Sam, about
five times, how much this cost. From his first four answers, I deduced that we
were lucky to get these perfect-for-me seats and we were not in the ‘spatter
zone’ and that there were lots of seats behind, to the back of us and in the
balconies and the lighting set-up looked so cool and then I decided I was so
excited that I didn’t care. Sam started
smiling too.
Finally, the seats filled and the lights went out. Rhythmic,
loud, wonderful music and … the lights go up on three tall, bald, shiny blue
men. Sam said I did not stop clapping, laughing/smiling for the entire three
non-stop hours of the show. Gunk
spraying out of their chests, paper streamers that we helped pass over our
heads, audience members placed feet first in ropes, lifted, covered in paint,
swung head down into canvas - to create art work, teaching the blue men how to
eat giant twinkies and the music. A quick lesson on how to act at a rock
concert and with my head bobbing – the show was over way too quick. The music (the blue men on various fantastic
drums and about eight other behind or above the scene band members) was
fabulous. Thank you Sam, I loved this
show and love you too!
On the way home, Sam practiced his blue man ‘look’. I like it!
