Sam And Saundra’s Second Time Around – Part 1
Oregon
10/11/10 - Another Beginning
It was a dark and stormy night. The snow had started piling
up on the rooftops, which were threatening to mutiny … Well, not quite.
Crying I am, as we pull away from the ‘big’ house with the
‘little’ one in tow. We had walked Owen
to school, discussing important things. Things like – Halloween Costumes, How
Can He Send Us Halloween Candy Because We Will Miss It, and How Soon Is
Christmas. Important things. I know deep, down on the surface, we are
leaving on this adventure by choice, but it is still hard since we can’t take
each and every loved one with us.
Yesterday we celebrated Sami’s first birthday. Her birth on 10/8/09 was
the official end of our first travel adventure. It is ‘poetic justice’ that our
second begins with her first. It also
seems Shakespearish, Disneyish, or perhaps Hitchcockish, that the birth of our
fourth grandchild will mark the end of the winter section of this
adventure. We are happily looking forward
to his/her birth. Jaron, never an afterthought, is in our hearts as well.

With all that said – we rush back home from the school, jump
into Brutus without even re-entering the house, and off we rush. Right to Les Schwabs, where we wait for 2 ½
hours as they put two new tires on our fully loaded, filled to the gills,
trailer. Then we are off like a herd of turtles.
Much of this trip is happening in areas previously visited
and I will try my best not to repeat. I
am also not on a daily journal mode. Stop grinning! You do not need to read this! Skimming is
perfectly legal.
