Sam And Saundra's Year Long Adventure - Part 40

Sam And Saundra’s Year Long Adventure – Part 40
Mexico
2/10/09 – Isla Aguada

Our second day dawns at this wonderful tropical water-filled location.  We are still walking on air, both of us agree that this grandparenting gig is one of the best that life brings.  But we go on with our Mexico adventure for now.

Motor Rickshaw

We tour Isla Aguada by motor-rickshaw.  Ours takes us down almost every street in this small fishing village, including the one where the small market is located.  The tour ends at the old ferry dock, just down the beach from the park.  The amount of traffic (even in this place) and the amount of advertisements are unbelievable. Some are painted right on people’s homes. When the tour was over, we hired our driver to take us back to the market and he actually helped us buy water, ice and a few other provisions.

Dock

When we return to the park to try and set up a fishing trip, we meet the husband-part of the owners of this park.  The American husband is married to a Mexican National and they are specializing in providing this experience to persons who don’t want to be limited by handicaps.  The husband, who is wheelchair bound, is an active, interesting man, who arranges things, while his wife and English-speaking employee/friend deals with the nuts, bolts and boats. There is a restaurant, bar and small motel (for special guests) at the Park as well. To this point, this is our favorite place in Mexico.  Barbara grabs me and away we go.   We end up at  the best place to find big shells. Under and near the old ferry dock.  We shelled and waded and checked for animals living in the shells, until we needed more arms to carry them.  Later, Sam and I sip margaritas by the water’s edge, enjoying …., then walk the few feet to our trailer to continue hearing the tropical sounds well into our dreams.
