Sam And Saundra's Year Long Adventure - Part 2

Sam And Saundra’s Year Long Adventure – Part 2
10/29/08 – Wednesday – Disney Halloween Party!

Owen - Disney Halloween!

October 29, 2008 – Wednesday:  Today we went off on a different adventure – to seek the white sands of the California ‘surfin’ beach.  We got in Brutus and using Brutilla (GPS) we found Huntington Beach, known for it’s surfing beaches.  The one we found had surfers, but it was also a dog beach…..and me with a dog phobia.  We all had a good time, the sand was still white and the waves still fun to run in.  Very few whole shells or agates to gather.  Owen and I tried while Sam and Kirsten sat soaking in the sun.  Due to the heat, there was a haze, but it hardly made a difference.

This evening was the Halloween Party. A THIRD DAY AT DISNEYLAND!!!! Well to be totally accurate, we were at California Adventure, but close enough. All the little kids were dressed in costumes.  The girls as Tinkerbell, Cinderella, Snow White, the Princess in the Sea and a few piratesses and skeletons.  The boys were mostly boys, with a little of everything.  Even the A-dults were dressed up.  Owen brought his black Spiderman suit (the only one I saw), Sam and I had Halloween shirts on and Kirsten – wouldn’t you know it – she went as a beautiful woman. They had treat stations all through the park and not only did they give out great candy, they gave packets of fruits and veggies too.  The park after dark was lit up with sweeping spookys all over. Just when you thought you were safe, a ghost, ghoul, or just plain scary thing would flow right over you.  Sam and I went on the California Soaring ride again and we all took turns taking Owen on all the rides we could fit in.  It was nice having an excuse to ride the smaller roller coasters and jelly fish rides. The big A-dult ones were running too – but luckily we had to be responsible for Owen. Whew!! As the evening progressed and we started back to camp with the other tuckered out groups – Owie decided he’d had enough, and with only a little prompting from Gramma, we started chasing all the spookys that had been following us all night.  Pretty soon - other kids joined in.  I bet those parents just loved us.  Great Party!
